We came here to celebrate my birthday dinner with my friends bf and family. I love the vibes and atmosphere definitely! Food was delicious and service was great. We had steaks fish you name it we ordered it! Drinks were great. I love the sides and sauces everything accommodated the meats very well! I'm definitely coming back asap!
There's a reason why this place is packed!!! Food was good but service was even better! Whoever your manager was last night, you sure know how to please your guests. Great people skills!
we arrived at 12:20 today and host said 30 minutes waiting After 30 minutes, they said it would be another 35 minutes. We finally sat down an hour later at 1:10 I didn't have a reservation, so waiting was understandable, but the information provided by the host was not very good. My recommendation is the New orleans BBQ shrimps and French onion soup was delicious. The atmosphere was a little smaller than I expected, but the concept and atmosphere was good for a contemporary American restaurant. The service from our server, Josh, was just right without being overbearing. The only thing is that Josh was not easy to find because he was working in a very wide area.
A great time The high ratings and hype are legit. Old Brea Chop House is a great night out. I live pretty close and I have no idea why it took so long to visit, but I'm glad I did. The drinks were great and the bartender, at least on the night I visited, did not have a weak pour. Our servers were friendly and pretty helpful. Even though its small and gets packed inside, they maintain a nice ambiance- I like the look, especially in the evening around the holidays. Now the food. The flavor was on point. The ribeye and scalloped potatoes were some of the best I've had. My only negative with the food was it arrived a bit lukewarm. The temp of all the food dishes, including my wife's, was just a little too low. It had a great taste but after a few minutes, it cooled too much for my liking. I don't know if that's the norm here our not, but it was the only thing I didn't enjoy. I'll be back- they have lots of item I still want to try. It's a great restaurant, especially for dining in Downtown Brea.
from appetizers to desserts, delicious beyond compare absolutely 5 stars. Best restaurant in Brea no doubt!
Amazing food and awesome service. I must recommend the Scallop Crudo, divine. I had the rack of lamb with Wild & Field Mushrooms, simply delicious. My husband had age ribeye with Ricotta Gnocchi also delicious. We hope to return soon.
First time coming this place on Saturday 11/09/24 surprised birthday dinner for my boyfriend. Once we step in it seems cozy with Christmas decorations. They are super busy because when check in to the front desk it's around 7:35pm and our reservation is at 7:45pm seated at 7:49pm. The appetizer came around 8:20 pm and the main course which was our steak came around 8:57 pm. Definitely you we can tell how popular this restaurant is. Also how well they prepared their food. We have two servers main server his name was Mario and the second her was Andy. They both have to serve many tables not just us to accommodate all the guests on a busy Saturday I thank them for their patients. We got many recommendations from Mario since it was for first time eating here. Appetizer New Orleans BBQ Shrimp is definitely a must because it's fresh and savory. When we had the basket of bread we dipped it in the sauce because it was so delicious. We even ask to take it to go of our leftovers it was that good. After the main entree Chef Cut Prime Ribeye Cap added with Truffle Butter. This portion is more than for two people. The beef itself its very tender! It blows both of our mind because we never have a ribeye cap before and for the first time it did not disappoint! Both our tummy are happy and very satisfied! The sides Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Ricotta Gnocchi both are delicious, gnocchi is very feeling that's for sure.
Review: I recently dined at Old Brea Chop House, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance was classic and elegant, with a cozy, upscale vibe that's perfect for a special night out. Food: We started with the oysters, which were incredibly fresh and briny.. definitely a great way to kick off the meal. For the main course, I opted for the bone-in ribeye. It was cooked to perfection, with a great sear and full of flavor, though I felt it was a touch too seasoned for my liking. My partner had the filet mignon, which was tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sides, especially the truffle mac and cheese, were decadent and well-prepared. Service: The service was attentive, though there were a few moments when we had to wait a little longer than expected for drink refills. That being said, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made great wine pairing suggestions. Drinks: They have a fantastic wine selection and a solid cocktail menu. I particularly enjoyed the Old Fashioned.. it was strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Overall: The experience was memorable, and while there were a couple of minor hiccups, I would definitely come back. Old Brea Chop House is a great spot for steak lovers and those looking for a refined dining experience. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you're looking for a high-quality steakhouse in the Brea area!
I had an amazing experience at Old Brea Chop House! For the appetizer, we ordered the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, which I highly recommend. The roux was delicious and perfect for dipping bread throughout the meal. The Ribeye Cap and Delmonico were both incredible, but the Ribeye Cap combo really stood out. It comes with two sides and a dessert, and it's perfect for sharing between two people. Definitely worth it! For sides, we shared a few with the table - the Wild & Field Mushrooms were my favorite. Rich, earthy flavors that complemented the steak perfectly. Overall, excellent food and service. Definitely a place to return for a special occasion or a memorable night out!
